Facebook Introduces New Feature of Recommendations – Move Over Google?


 

The future of Facebook marketing many businesses and brands remain undecided and the social media giants transform businesses and customers, interacting with their platform. Once you’ve searched for your favorite brand on Facebook you would be caught off-guard and confused.

Amidst all these scandals, Facebook is quietly testing new rating systems for business pages that are similar to users profile pages, in exception of reviews and star ratings displayed on top of a 5-star scale.

Though being simple, it highlighted the star ratings based on reviews, it was easy for users to contact the company via message or wall post. Ditching the 5-star scale and opting for a scale of 1-10, Facebook is off for a new avatar. In addition to using reviews on a business’ page, Facebook is reportedly incorporating aspects like recommendations and business response time to inquiries via private message as well as overall rating of any business.

Tested out by Facebook, it is unforeseen if the testing of these changes will stick around for the long term. However, this current layout and rating scale will keep you ahead of competition and engaged with customers. Previously the user would rate on a scale of 1-5, but now on the new scale of 1-10, each review making an effect on the overall rating of your business. With the new rating, a user can choose to ‘recommend’ or ‘not recommend’ your business and provide additional feedback.

In order to maintain a regular online reputation your online reputation and have the pulse of your customer-base, you need to see this new rating scale Facebook is offering that your business has with the customer’s experiences.  If your business experience is rare and satisfactory, this could change the entire story and make it face-to-face while communicating digitally and if not, then your business falls short. As a business owner, this gives a screenshot of what exactly your customers think and feel about the experiences they had with your business. Most of these reviews are also filled with keywords used while recommending anything.
